Parachutes
| Some of our very earliest parachutes were
conceived, designed, copyrighted and manufactured by Raven Industries. The parachute shown to the left is the R-PLUS® parachute, constructed entirely of plastic, was designed specifically for one-shot cargo delivery. The manufacturing and raw material costs were very inexpensive so a single use was feasible. In the image the parachute is carrying a 500 pound payload. |

Black Brandt sounding rockets are used for Near Space projects requiring a higher altitude than a high altitude research balloon can achieve. |
| Raven R-Plus designs were
also manufactured for over 20 years for use in landing decelerator parachutes for the Lear Jet parachute program which ran from 1968 to 1995. In 1982, Goodyear Aerospace sub- contracted with Raven to produce the BALLUTE munitions decelerator.
